On April 27th 2021 The Canadian Network for Arts and Learning held a panel discussion, led by The VSO School of Music and the Labrador Arts Festival, in which we explored how organizations working in two very different contexts overcame seemingly insurmountable challenges to deliver meaningful arts experiences to students within a global pandemic. This September I Love First Peoples and The Art for Aid Project are launching the Sew & Sew Skills Lab in 4 northern schools. We will soon ship 60 high quality brand new sewing machines, generously donated by Jenome Canada and funded in part by the people who donated funds to purchase several machines last year!
We are pleased to announce a free webinar series aimed at helping Canada’s arts and learning practitioners develop strategies to more effectively connect with the public – whether it be potential new students, audiences or collaborators. Throughout this series we will explore simple ways of promoting virtual art making and learning opportunities for the public, while also dissecting some of the best practices that have emerged throughout the pandemic’s surge in digital arts instruction.

En participant à ces échanges, vous pourrez notamment faire part à vos collègues des mesures que vous avez prises pour établir contact avec vos élèves, votre public et vos diverses parties prenantes, et des étapes suivantes pour votre pratique au cours des prochains mois et au-delà. Nous voulons aussi savoir ce que le Réseau canadien pour les arts et l’apprentissage peut faire pour continuer d’appuyer votre travail et celui de l’ensemble de notre secteur, afin d’assurer un solide avenir pour les arts et l’apprentissage à l’ère du numérique.
The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning is pleased to announce a third series of online roundtable discussions for arts and learning practitioners to share the realities they are facing as we head into the second wave of the pandemic. We invite everyone to take part in the exchange as we discuss measures taken to virtually connect with students, audiences, other stakeholders and the public, how you foresee moving forward in your practice in the next few months and into the future, and other topics. We also hope to learn how The Canadian Network for Arts & Learning can further support the work that you are doing, and the sector as a whole, to ensure a strong future for arts and learning in the digital age.
