Tables rondes numériques pancanadiennes

Du 23 mars au 3 avril 2020, le Réseau canadien pour les arts et l'apprentissage a organisé une série de 10 tables rondes numériques au cours desquelles nous avons entendu de plus de 300 d’entre vous nous ont fait part des effets de la pandémie de COVID-19 sur ceux et celles qui enseignent les arts à l’échelle du Canada. Lors des semaines à venir, nous compilerons les données recueillies dans un rapport qui sera publié et envoyé aux dirigeants politiques provinciaux et fédéraux. Nous avons publié ici les enregistrements et les échanges de clavardage pour chacune des dix tables rondes, ainsi que les résultats des sondages auxquels vous avez répondu durant ces discussions. Le Réseau continue de chercher des moyens de soutenir le secteur des arts et de l'apprentissage tout au long de la crise actuelle et à l'avenir, et annoncera de nouvelles initiatives au cours des prochains jours.

Pan-Canadian Digital Roundtable Discussions

From March 23 – April 3, 2020, The Canadian Network for Arts and Learning held a series of 10 digital roundtable discussions where we heard from more than 300 people about the impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the lives of those who teach the arts across Canada. The information that was gathered at these sessions will be compiled in a report which we will publish as well as send to leaders in the federal and provincial governments. The video recordings of each of those sessions are below. Throughout the sessions we polled the participants with six questions. You can see the results of these polls below. The Network continues to seek ways in which we can support the arts and learning sector throughout the current crisis and into the future, and will be announcing new initiatives throughout the coming days.

Alors que nous observons le spectacle étrange d’un monde qui ferme ses portes, il ne fait aucun doute que les événements actuels représentent un défi extraordinaire. Staying Connected during the Pandemic

As we watch the entire world closing down, we can have no doubt that we are living through a time of extraordinary challenge.  No one is more adversely affected by the necessary social distancing measures than practitioners and learners in the arts and learning sector.  Many professionals find themselves unable to earn a living; long planned for events and programs have been cancelled or postponed – often after significant expenditures have already been committed; learners have seen their connection with the arts abruptly severed.

The Canadian Network for Arts and Learning congratulates Board Member Angela Elster on her appointment to President & CEO of The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the VSO School of Music.

The appointment follows an extensive international six-month search process led by VSO Chair Etienne Bruson, the VSO Board of Directors, and executive search firm Korn Ferry. Elster, who is currently Vice-President of the VSO School of Music & Community Programs, succeeds Kelly Tweeddale who left the VSO to become the Executive Director of the San Francisco Ballet in the summer of 2019.
