YOUTH COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT
Are you an artist or creative between the ages of 18-29? ArtWorksTO is a capacity-building and professional development project for youth arts entrepreneurs, in partnership with the City of Toronto – Toronto Youth Equity Strategy (TYES).
Youth submit proposals to create dynamic and original communication materials. These materials are intended to promote key City programs that serve youth needs and highlight best practices in youth-led collaborative initiatives.
Eligibility
- City of Toronto residents
- Individual youth artists (18-29)
- Groups of youth artists (18-29)
- Youth arts groups
- Youth social enterprises & businesses
- At least one of the following:
- Indigenous, Black, and/or a Person of Colour
- 2SLGBTQ+ ( two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer)
Key qualifications
- Professional experience in the relevant art form, as described in the project (i.e. photography, videography, etc.)
- Lived experience or understanding of issues impacting MVP youth (youth most vulnerable to involvement in serious violence and crime)Applications Open: February 2027 (TBC)
Program timeline
Application Deadline: March 2027 (TBC)
OCAD U Mandatory Course #1: April to early June 2027
OCAD U Mandatory Course #2: July to August 2027
Media Arts Project Development: June to Mid-September 2027
Mentorship: Mid-May to August 2027
Graduation: October 2027 (TBC)
