The Salt Spring National Art Prize

The Salt Spring National Art Prize (SSNAP) is a biennial competition and exhibition of Canadian visual art. Offering $50,000 in awards, SSNAP is one of Canada’s largest celebrations of contemporary art. The prize is administered by the not-for-profit Salt Spring National Art Prize Society to recognize, showcase and advance the accomplishments of Canadian visual artists.

CULTURAL EVENTS FUND

The Cultural Events Fund (CEF) supports community activities such as festivals, events, and cultural projects across Newfoundland and Labrador, highlighting our unique cultural tapestry and creativity.

CEF supports public gatherings that facilitate celebration and/or preservation of local culture through presentation of, and engagement with, arts and heritage.

Creative Manitoba Professional Mentorship Program (for ages 19-29)

The Professional Mentorship Program runs October 18, 2024 – May 8, 2025.
Open to mentees age 19-29, and professional mentors of any age, who reside in Winnipeg. Mentees approach a professional mentor of their choosing to pair with and they apply together. If you are a mentee who does not have a chosen mentor set up, email the program director by July 15 at mentor@creativemanitoba.ca for assistance to connect you to possible mentors to apply with.

Canada Council for the Arts - Virginia Parker Prize

What is this prize?

The Virginia Parker Prize is awarded to a musician, instrumentalist or classical music conductor under the age of 32 who demonstrates outstanding talent, musicianship and artistic excellence and who makes a valuable contribution to artistic life in Canada and internationally.

Governor General's Literary Awards

The Awards

The Governor General's Literary Awards recognize Canada's best English- and French-language books in each of the following seven categories: Fiction, Non-fiction, Poetry, Drama, Young People’s Literature – Text, Young People’s Literature – Illustrated Books and Translation (from French to English and vice versa).

The books must be submitted to the Canada Council by an eligible publisher.

Community Grants Program for Kingston and Area

The Community Grants Program for Kingston is providing a granting program which provides grants each year to support projects undertaken by charitable organizations within the greater Kingston area.  It is funded each year from earnings on our pooled Community Fund, Smart & Caring Community Fund and over 40 individual endowment funds established by our generous donors.

Twice a year, applications are invited for project proposals, which are reviewed by our local volunteer Grants Committee.

ArtStarts Creative Spark Vancouver

ArtStarts in Schools is a charitable organization that expands the role of art in education to activate learning and nurture creativity in British Columbia's young people.

Small projects can make a big impact. Emerging artists across all artistic and cultural disciplines living in the City of Vancouver who have an interest in building their careers and working with young people in an arts or culture-based capacity are invited to apply for Creative Spark Vancouver.
