#DesjardinsFoundation Prizes

The #DesjardinsFoundation prizes, organized by Desjardins Foundation, award financial assistance for projects with a direct impact on kindergarten, elementary and secondary school students.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Organizations will be eligible for the #DesjardinsFoundation prizes if they belong to one of the following categories:

  • Public or private kindergartens, elementary schools or secondary schools that are recognized by the Ministry of Education in Ontario or the Ministère de l’Éducation in Quebec.
  • Charity organizations registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, located in Quebec or Ontario and whose activities support initiatives that encourage kids to stay in school and get an education.(the “Eligible Participants”)

Other organizations are not eligible, including:

  • Post-secondary educational institutions
  • Preschools and day cares
  • Religious organizations and groups
  • Political organizations
  • Special interest groups
  • Organizations not registered as charities with the Canada Revenue Agency

Eligible Participants must present a project that meets the following conditions:

Project: An undertaking that is carefully planned and designed to achieve a particular aim and carried out within a pre-determined period and budget.

  • The #DesjardinsFoundation prize must be used solely to carry out a project for young people.
  • The project must actively encourage young people to stay in school and get an education by contributing to their self-esteem, motivation, association with peers, healthy lifestyles or any other decisive factor.
  • The project must directly benefit young people enrolled in pre-school or kindergarten(4 or 5 years old), elementary school, secondary school or an adult learning program to obtain an high school diploma.
  • The project must directly target more than one young person.
  • The amount requested must cover more than half the total cost of the project and cannot be part of a fundraising campaign.
  • Young people must be actively engaged in carrying out the project; there is no limit on the number of participants who can be involved in this project.
  • The project must be carried out in Quebec or Ontario.
  • The amount requested must be used between January 1 and December 31 the following year
  • Eligible Participants must be represented by a duly authorized representative.
  • Limit one (1) project per applicant.
